Space systems applications and technology transfer: how ESA can support new ideas and ventures.
Barcelona, Spain - 19 November 2008
The great opportunities created by decades of aerospace research and development are ripe for exploration now. Advanced space technologies have already provided intelligent solutions in our everyday lives, such as the air bag, the Antilock Braking System (ABS) and satellite navigation devices. Yet the public and business community are largely unaware of the possibilities that this new technology is opening up to us, and we would like to see this huge potential developed further.
This Information Event presents an attractive opportunity for Start-ups, SME's and Entrepreneurs in Barcelona and the metropolitan area to obtain seed financing. At the same time, the participants will gain access to the advanced infrastructures of the European Space Agency (ESA). It is a unique chance to obtain funding for developing new and existing mobile and information technology services linked to the areas of satellite navigation and communication, location-based services and advanced materials.
During the Event, participants will have the opportunity to have face-to-face interviews with Bruno Naulais, Manager of the European Space Incubators Network.
